Last attendance phase of Paroma 2023: Focus on Implantology and Laser in Periodontal Therapy
How can it be August already?
Our students of the M.Sc. Periodontology (Paroma) / Class of 2023 were in Aachen for the last time – we are always surprised how quickly the four attendance phases go by. During the practical days, our students focused on "Implantology" and "Laser in Periodontal Therapy".
Practical introduction to laser therapy: Exercises and real cases
During the first two days, our students were able to practice using different lasers and wavelengths on different models. This gives them a practical understanding of which procedures can be a suitable alternative to traditional treatments. These training sessions took place in Dr. Grümer's dental office so that the students had the opportunity to participate in real-life treatment situations.
The different uses of lasers were demonstrated live on patients, and the students were able to ask questions directly to the instructors and discuss the procedures in small groups.
Specialization in implantology: Digital planning and practical application
The other two days focused on implantology. During the hands-on sessions, our students learned about digital implant planning for guided implant placement, emergence profile and individualized & intraoperative impression taking.
To support this hands-on training, several real cases were presented and discussed afterwards to further deepen the acquired knowledge.
