25 years of RWTH International Academy – our Summer Night Party
A milestone to celebrate
Wow, time flies! This year we are proud to celebrate the 25th anniversary of RWTH International Academy.
To mark this special milestone, we welcomed more than 150 guests to our Summer Night Party yesterday to look back on a quarter century of innovation, education and success. With inspiring speeches, live music and delicious food, we celebrated this special occasion – and to everyone's joy, the weather turned out to be quite untypical for Aachen, with 25 degrees and bright sunshine.
First "Outstanding Teaching Award"
presented to Prof. Dr. rer. nat Christof Melcher
A highlight of the event was the ceremony of the "Outstanding Teaching Award", which recognizes outstanding achievements in digital teaching in our film studio.
We are pleased to present the award to Prof. Dr. rer. nat Christof Melcher, who impressed our jury of program managers/media didactics experts and our participants in the Mathematics III course of our German Engineering College (GEC) qualification program with many practical insights, exciting Q&A sessions, creativity and innovation.
Thank you for your commitment and inspiring presentations that make our digital teaching so much more exciting than "just sitting in front of a laptop". We are looking forward to the next GEC program!
A quick journey through our history
During the ceremony, we took a moment to reflect on some of the significant milestones that have shaped our journey.
From the start with just a few employees in a small office space to the founding of our subsidiary RWTH Business School, to the successful accreditation by the ASIIN Consult System as the only higher education organization in Germany, to the opening of our interactive film studio, and the continued development of our course offerings to include digital formats and blended learning programs.
Global network of business, science & research
One of our greatest successes is our extensive network of international partners. Our diverse relationships enrich our programs and offer our participants unique opportunities for global experience. The diverse partner companies, excellent RWTH institutes and passionate lecturers play a crucial role in our success story.

It was an honor to welcome Stefanie Peters - President of the Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein e.V. (ALRV) and Stephanie Göbel - Head of Engineering North, Hilti Deutschland AG on stage and to gain interesting insights into our specific cooperation programs.
Certificate Program in Equestrian Stable Management
The Equestrian Stable Management Certificate Program, which is a cooperative project between CHIO Aachen CAMPUS and RWTH International Academy, is an interactive, practice-oriented online program that enables participants from two tracks with different focuses to develop their professional skills in the field of managing an equestrian sport stable.
RWTH BIM Talent Program
The RWTH BIM Talent Program of RWTH International Academy is an initiative of the Institute of Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Building (E3D) and the globally operating companies Hilti Deutschland AG and Viega GmbH & Co. KG.
The program is aimed at first-year students of the public master's degree programs of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at RWTH Aachen University.
We would like to thank Plantikow Event Catering GmbH for the excellent all-round carefree package, from the equipment to the barbecue buffet to the first-class service, and Martin Braun for the once again excellent photographic support of the event!
